Elios and Gaia

Elios and Gaia are companion stories.  Either can be read alone, however I found they were much better if read together.  They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle.  The questions left in one are answered in the other.  Both are well written and have an interesting plot twist.  Hard core readers of science fiction may take issues with some of the space travel/time frame issues. But considering its fiction I just go with it. Overall, both are great stories.

Gaia is the companion story of Elios. Both of these books tell the same story but are from different points of view. Gaia is an Italian student that first sees a handsome stranger while vacationing in Greece. She can't get past this initial attraction. For her its much more than love at first sight and she just can't shake how perfect he felt for her. She tries to go on with her life and shake the obsession she has with the stranger. She takes an opportunity to study abroad and hopes the change of scenery does the trick. However, he follows her to Washington and she realizes there is more to him than meets the eye.

Gaia is not a strong female character. She does gain strength as the story goes on. I realize that its not a requirement that every female character be strong as there are all types of people in the world. But in the beginning she seems whiney and obsessive and at times I just want to say "enough already."

The is the epitome of a clean romance. Its so clean that surgery could be performed in this climate. Abstinence is stressed to the limit. And while the reason for this is woven into the story you can feel the stress this brings to the characters.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Like everything by this author, it was very well written. If you enjoy clean romance you should check this one out along with the companion story.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Elios is the companion story of Gaia. It is the same story, just told from his point of view. Elios is not of this world. He is an observer with a mission to save the memory of humanity and is forbidden to interact with any of Earth's population. While in Greece he locks eyes with Gaia and everything changes. He feels an attraction that is much more than love at first sight and changes his world as well as hers.

Elios' story fills in questions in Gaia's story. We see what happens when they are apart and she is wondering why things are as they are. We learn about Elios' life and where he comes from as well as why he's not supposed to interact with Gaia.

Overall, I liked this story more than Gaia's story. Elios is a stronger character and there is more of an explanation for why things are as they are. As I said in my review for Gaia, this is a super clean romance. There is not even hand holding til near the end. Abstinence is stretched to its maximum limits in these two books. So if you like clean romance you should pick these up and give them a shot.
